Beginner's Wingfoil Course

This course is aimed at those who wish to start practising wingfoil. The course covers all the basic techniques. We are fully committed to your learning without bad habits or gaps in your skills or knowledge, always teaching you to make the most appropriate decions in every situation. All of this with the objective that you will be able to safely practice wingfoil independently after the course.

Our lessons

Our lessons are individual and tailored to each student, in this way the learning process is more intense and supervised, which translates into more control, confidence and security when practising wingfoil.

If you wish to take classes as a group, it is possible as long as the group is not larger than four people. We have established this limit in order to maintain the high standards of the learning process for everyone.

Course structure

The course is divided into three phases. In each phase the pupil will learn how to master one technique needed for the practise of wingfoil. The complete course runs for 3 days, with 2-3 hours of class time per day. In each one of the classes you will learn one of the phases. You can take the entire course in three consecutive days or take each phase at a time that suits you best.

Our wingfoil course is organised in the following way:

Phase 1 - Day 1

Wingfoil piloting techniques.

Choosing a safe set-up spot, respecting regulations.
Getting to know the equipment, all of the parts and their functions.
Assembling and taking apart the equipment, checking and securing.
Simulating wing control, making direction changes.
Performing control tasks from different positions.
Moving with Montain board.

If you have already taken a Wing piloting course, you can skip this phase and begin the course directly with phase 2.

Phase 2 - Day 2

Piloting techniques with your body in the water.

Controlling the wing.
Entering the water with the paddel-SUP.
Body drag downwind, body drag upwind.
Changing direction while returning to the start position.

Phase 3 - Day 3

Sailing techniques.

Preparation of the foil on the board.
Performing simulation tasks of the foil.
Water start with feeling of foil elevation.
Gybing with the wing in front of us.
Self-rescue techniques.

Supervision

For your peace of mind when you ride, we offer a supervision service. This service includes accident insurance, board, kite, bar, harness, wetsuit and pump. You will ride under the supervision of our teachers, who will make sure that everything runs smoothly and you can remain in constant contact with them via walkie-talkie.

Wingfoil gear rental

Are you already a self-sufficient wingfoiler? If your answer is 'yes', then you will probably be interested in renting wingfoiling equipment without taking any lessons. We offer a full range of wingfoiling gear and equipment so you can practise at your leisure.

This service includes accident insurance, board, kite, bar, harness, wetsuit and pump.

Rental service conditions: For safety reasons, we only rent gear to riders that know how to sail upwind.

65 € / full day

Your peace and safety whilst kiting, along with the peace and safety of other kiters, beach staff, and others, depend not only on you knowing how to ride, but also on you knowing the place in which you're sailing. This is why we strongly recommend an initial two hours of practice with one of our teachers to ALL riders without previous experience in El Médano, this way you can get all the important information about the site and learn which are the dangerous areas (rocks, ocean currents, etc).

Cabrinha Test Center

Test your Cabrinha gear before buying. We offer you a wide range of Cabrinha products so you can draw your own conclusions and buy your equipment only after being convinced that the product is to your satisfaction. Get in touch with us to try out your new Cabrinha equipment.
